The Republic Tiger Pride Band Boosters exist to support everyone affiliated with the Republic Tiger Pride Band – students, directors, and staff.

To do so takes a village!

We are eternally grateful to the band parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, friends, alumni, and all the rest who make it possible!

If you’d like to get involved, attend a booster meeting or contact the Republic Tiger Pride Band Boosters via BAND or email.

The positions below are filled by parents/guardians:

*We anticipate these positions will need to be filled for the 2024-2025 school year

The Boosters have created a comprehensive guidebook to assist in the duties required of each position.

No one needs to do everything themselves, but work with others to make certain they are done.

If you are able, capable, and willing to fill more than one position, that works! Some lend themselves to the possibility of one person filling multiple roles – for instance, the skills needed for graphic design, photographer, & social media can overlap significantly. It wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for one person to do all three – but it doesn’t have to be. Someone good at social media posts, may not have an eye for graphic design, and that’s okay, too!

If you are not a parent/guardian of a band student, are unable to commit to a more extended time frame, or would like to be involved on a smaller scale, volunteers are also needed to:

  • serve lunch at band camp
  • serve popsicles at band camp
  • organize and fit uniforms (no experience needed! No sewing needed!)
  • haul equipment/trailers (probably should have experience for this ;-))
  • load/unload trucks before/after/at competitions
  • prepare and serve competition meals
  • pit train – help front ensemble to and from the field for competitions
  • props – build, move
  • videography
  • photography
  • Have A Blast Parking Lot
  • Have A Blast Cotton Candy Booth
  • a thousand other things!

If you have a special skill – or don’t believe you have any skills at all! – we can use your help! Please reach out to the Boosters via the email link above.

Board Members (President, Vice President, Secretary, Co-Treasurers)

Members of the board serve two year terms. The president, secretary, and one co-treasurer are elected in odd years. The vice president and second co-treasurer are elected in even years.

Each member of the board has specific duties related to their position:

  • President: oversees and coordinates all Booster activities with the band director and appropriate others, supervises and organizes booster transportation needs, is a de facto member of all committees
  • Vice President: oversees fundraising, co-chairs the fundraising committee, assists the president as needed, runs booster meetings in the president’s absence
  • Secretary: handles correspondence on behalf of the boosters, supervises community outreach and communications with the public by working with the media team, keeps minutes of meetings
  • Co-treasurer – expenditures: tracks all spending, coordinates with the booster accountant to present a budget report at monthly meetings, ensures uniform coordination tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Co-treasurer – deposits: tracks all incoming funds and ensures they are deposited or transferred into the booster account in a timely manner, coordinates with the booster accountant to present a budget report at monthly meetings, oversees food committee expenditures (this ensures both treasurers backstop the committee where the majority of the transactions occur)
Food Committee Co-Chairs

The food committee co-chairs are responsible for feeding students, staff, drivers, volunteers, and anyone else that needs feeding!

And you don’t need to be a master chef!

There’s plenty of help! These people coordinate with an army volunteers to ensure it all happens!

They are responsible for lunches and popsicles during band camp, menu creation during competition season, purchasing/ordering food and related supplies, coordinating pre-preparation of meals prior to events, supervising/coordinating preparation and serving of meals on-site, Friday night meals before games, snacks after concerts, fundraising meal at One Fine Night, and any other event requiring food.

An extensive guidebook is available to help with best practices.

Fundraising Committee Co-Chairs

The vice president and another volunteer oversee the fundraising committee, coordinate with the booster president and band director, call meetings as necessary, ensure implementation of fundraising events.

Annual fundraising events include:

  • Have a Blast (Cotton Candy Booth, RMS Parking Lot)
  • Sponsorships
  • Apparel/Vinyl stores, lanyard sales
  • Chick-fil-A cold nugget trays (for Super Bowl Weekend)
  • Winter Apparel
  • Cardinals volunteers
  • Dinner at One Fine Night

These events raise funds for the booster organization for use in fulfilling their mission. The band boosters may hold additional fundraisers as well. The band director may also organize other fundraising opportunities to benefit the band members and/or the booster organization.

Volunteer Coordinator

The Volunteer Coordinator is just what it sounds like! This person works with others to coordinate an army of volunteers for different events. Some of these will utilize Sign Up Genius and others will be more informal.

Though the amount of time this position requires is significantly less than some of the others, it is incredibly vital to the ability of the boosters to function as needed.

No formal training is needed, but being organized is necessary as is the ability to utilize a website that isn’t always intuitive.

Media Team

The Media Team works with the secretary to ensure clear communication on behalf of the band boosters in a variety of mediums. The Media Team includes social media, photographers, videographers, graphic designer, and any number of other volunteers to ensure performance videos, announcements, and other information is disseminated in a timely manner. Guidebooks or info sheets are available to assist volunteers.

Social Media

No formal training is necessary but a familiarity with the mediums, particularly Facebook and YouTube, is helpful. This person does not need to handle all of the posts, but does need to know enough about things to ensure it’s done properly in a way that positively represents the Republic Tiger Pride Band program and the boosters.

Photography/Videography

These volunteers take photos and videos of the band – performances, practices, hanging out in parking lots, etc.

It is our desire to have multiple photographers and at least one videographer at most events. They will work with the secretary and social media volunteer to cover the schedule as fully as possible. These volunteers will ensure performances are photographed or recorded & uploaded, live streamed, or otherwise distributed.

They will be given access to the Tiger Pride Pics drive to upload their photos & videos (if relevant).

No formal training is necessary, but it is preferred photographers have a camera with a reasonable zoom lens and an eye for photography and/or a desire to learn how to take better photos. A recording device will be provided to the videographer (when available), but a video camera or quality phone camera may be used instead.

Graphic Designer

The Graphic Designer works with the secretary, social media volunteer, webmaster, and others. This person is responsible for working with the band director and vendors to create apparel and vinyl designs available during band camp, creating graphics with calendar information and details for events, and the senior memory book design. This person will also do (usually minor) updates to the Parent Handbook, create or update flyers, and take care of any other graphic design needs as they arise.

No formal training is needed, but an eye for graphic design as well as familiarity with MS Publisher, Canva, and a collage app/program are helpful.

Webmaster

This person works with other members of the Media Team to keep the website updated. Responsibilities generally include creating/updating band camp pages, updating email information as needed, and keeping sponsor lists/graphics up-to-date.

RMS Outreach Team

This person (or people) work with the board and other media team members to cultivate the relationship between the Republic Tiger Pride Band and the Republic Middle School Band – specifically with parents. They ensure concerts are live streamed/recorded, are available to answer questions at concerts or other meetings (such as 6th grade parent night, 8th grade RTPB preview, Bandapalooza, etc.). There are typically 3-4 concerts and 3-4 other events a year.

While it would be convenient for these volunteers to be parents of middle school band students, it is not a requirement.

Uniform Coordinator & Assistant Coordinator

The Uniform Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the organization, distribution, and collection of uniforms. The organization generally happens before band camp, uniforms are distributed during band camp, and collected after marching season is over. This person also ensures there are supplies available to fix uniforms as needed while at events (but do not necessarily need to do the fixing themselves) and oversees adjustments to hems, etc. as needed during the season.

These people need to be available from approx. 1130am-4pm most days during band camp. Uniform distribution starts shortly after noon and ends between 3-330pm.

The assistant coordinator will be learning from the coordinator and fill in if the coordinator is unable to be in attendance for some reason.

Organization can happen any time prior to the first day of distribution. Some alternatives usually include: during the day during leadership/percussion week, during the day first day or two of band camp, other depending on the availability of volunteers

No sewing experience is necessary but attention to detail is important to ensure the various aspects of uniforms are fit and handled correctly.

An extensive guide book is available to assist with best practices.
